Forever Wars: Arizona, Idaho & Massachusetts take on the ‘Dragon’ in Kuwait!

The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team (aka Snake River Brigade, one of my military alma maters) is Idaho’s largest Army National Guard unit. The brigade is located in more than 20 Idaho communities as well as units in Montana, Nevada and Oregon.  The 2-116th Cavalry Regiment is headquartered in Caldwell with units in Emmett and Nampa.

In February 2023, the 2-116th Cavalry Regiment took part in what is called Dragon Defender 2023, on Camp Buehring in Kuwait.  It wasn’t just the Idaho Army National Guard, the 272nd Chemical Company-79th Troop Command of the Massachusetts Army National Guard was also present: “I love CBRN [Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear]. I love that it’s not just one thing; there are so many aspects to it. It’s not just putting on your gas mask and going to a CS [Crowd Suppression gas, aka tear gas] chamber or checking your mask.”-Warrant Officer Kelly Osmon, Massachusetts Army National Guard

Dragon Defender included Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) training, specifically involving mounted reconnaissance, extraction and decontamination of victims.  WMD also includes explosives, and the Arizona Army National Guard was there to cover that aspect: “Being EOD [Explosive Ordinance Disposal], our job is to clear the scene of any explosive hazards. A lot of scenarios with CBRN weapons there will be booby traps or dispersal devices with explosives in them. That’s our forte.”-Specialist Tyler Blackmore, 363rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company-158th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Arizona Army National Guard

World War 3: Free dental-work for Idaho Militia? It’s all about money & continued deployments!

10 March 2023 (08:51-UTC-07 Tango 06) 19 Esfand 1401/17 Sha’ban 1444/19 Yi-Mao 4721/10 марта 2023 года

Apparently the cost of dental work is so sky-high and hard to come-by (since The Pandemic) that the Idaho Army National Guard now offers free dental services to its militia members!

Idaho National Guard public relations employee, Crystal Farris, reported that on 05MAR2023 The Gem State’s militia opened its first Field Dental Treatment Facility on Gowen Field (part of the Boise airport complex).

Idaho Army National Guard photo by Crystal Farris, 05MAR2023.

The official reasoning is to increase the medical readiness of Guard units for future deployments (never mind that Idaho has been taking part in revolving door deployments for years, and currently has combat troops in Syria!): “Now we have the ability to complete exams and provide limited treatment. This allows Soldiers to receive dental care within our dedicated dental treatment rooms on Gowen Field rather than sending them to a civilian provider at a later time for follow-up care.”-Captain Trey Wanty, Deputy State Surgeon

Also, it turns out that ‘contracting’ with civilian dentists was not saving taxpayers any money!  Idaho joins Arizona, and Nebraska, in taking part in the new federal National Guard Bureau’s Limited Dental Treatment Program: “When the National Guard Bureau asked which states wanted to become a pilot state in this program our state’s leadership jumped at the opportunity. It is going to save our organization significant money, while also providing our Soldiers quicker assistance and improving our medical readiness.”-Captain Trey Wanty, Deputy State Surgeon

The new Limited Dental Treatment Program does not apply to militia members in the Tricare (apparently Tricare is not an acronym, it is a made-up name for a Department of Defense healthcare system) program, and does not offer dental services requiring sedation.

Cold War to Ukraine Crisis: USAF sends 27 Block-25 Falcons to the Boneyard!

“It’s a little surreal, to be honest with you. I can remember as a lieutenant growing up, flying with a lot of guys in F-4s and watching that historic change from F-4s to F-16s. And here I am, 20 years later, watching an F-16 I’ve flown be retired. I’ve gone full circle, and it’s bittersweet. But it’s an awesome opportunity to be the last commander to fly this jet.”-Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Eldredge, 309th Fighter Squadron

On 07SEP2022, the last of 27 F-16C ‘Block 25’ Falcons was flown from Luke Air Force Base, in Arizona, to The Boneyard. The retirement ceremony was held on 06SEP2022.

The 309th Fighter Squadron (FS) ‘Wild Ducks’ had been flying Block 25 F-16C/Ds for 28 years.  The 309th FS has an interesting history, going back to World War Two, in that it has been based at various locations around the world and around the United States, and repeatedly in-activated and re-activated.  The last time it was in-activated was in 1993, after the non-official, non-declared Cold War ended, yet was re-activated the very next year, in 1994.  It also experienced a period of being officially “unmanned”, from May 2014 to July 2014.

The 309th FS still uses the newer Block 42 ‘Night’ Falcons, but perhaps will eventually get the outrageously expensive, and long overdue, F-35A Lightning-2.

The F-16 Falcon first flew in 1974, the first F-16’A’ in 1976, the first F-16’Cs’ began with production Block 25, in 1984. The first Block 42 Night Falcons appeared in 1988, so the 309th FS is still flying a Cold War era aircraft.

Idaho invaded by Apaches from Arizona & Singapore?

From July 21st through August 29th, of 2022, Southwestern Idaho was invaded by AH-64D ‘Longbow’ Apaches from the state of Arizona and the tiny British empire member (Commonwealth of Nations) of Republic of Singapore.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force has a unit based in Arizona called Peace Vanguard.  They are there to learn how to operate the Longbow from the Arizona Army National Guard.  Part of that training brings them to Idaho’s Orchard Combat Training Center (OCTC) for gunnery.

U.S. Disaster 2022: Arizona Militia Sandbags latest Flooding

Arizona Army National Guard image by Major Kyle Key.

On 16JUL2022, more than 30 personnel from the 850th Military Police Battalion deployed to help fill more than 5-thousand sandbags.  Then, the next day (17JUL2022), approximately 60 additional personnel of the Arizona National Guard deployed to the Coconino County Public Works Department, to help fill as many as 600-thousand sandbags before the end of the week.

This is due to monsoon flooding, which caused ‘shelter-in-place’ orders to be issued to some of the residents of areas that had been devastated by wildfires in recent years, the burn areas now become zones of large flash flooding during the monsoon season.

On 15JUL2022, administrators of Coconino County asked for help from the National Guard.  It turns out that many of the militia personnel were already taking part in their ‘summer camp’ training, just 25 miles away, and some of them actually live in Coconino County:  “We just pivoted those soldiers over there and re-directed them to the Coconino Public Works building… …There are some who are from this area. That is what’s beautiful about it. We are part of the community in which we serve.”-Major Kyle Key, Arizona Army National Guard

Arizona first responders and National Guard suit-up for toxic gas situation at animal hospital

On 06 APR 2017, employees at an animal hospital in Gilbert, Arizona, thought they smelled a gas leak.  When the fire department investigated they claim to have found a toxic gas “hazmat situation” and ordered an evacuation of the Arizona Veterinary Specialists clinic.

The National Guard’s 91st Civil Support Team was called in, as well as surrounding municipality’s HAZMAT teams.   Apparently first responders called it a hazmat situation because they determined it was not a gas leak, but they were not able to identify what was in the air.

Entering the Hot Zone in Level-A suits

14 dogs and one cat were evacuated, most were connected to medical equipment.  Local news media said the first dog brought out was in critical condition, but didn’t say if it was due to the toxic gas. Veterinarians who checked out the animals after evacuation don’t think the animal’s conditions are connected to the hazmat situation.

Local news media say the employees, and the fire crews that responded to the 9-1-1 call, were checked for contamination.  Finally, investigators determined the toxic gas was ethylene oxide, a chemical used to sterilize medical equipment.

Ethylene oxide is a flammable colorless gas with a sweet odor, and is also used to make toxic bug spray.

World War 3, Martial Law U.S. Front: ebay, Dell, HP, federal & state governments build World’s largest data collection spy center system in Utah! Real time data stream monitoring!

16 October 2013 (11:39 UTC-07 Tango)/11 Dhu’l-Hijja 1434/24 Mehr 1391/12 Ren-Xu (9th month) 4711

The United States government and ebay have things in common: They both partner to collect your personal data, and their major collection centers are based in the Mormon dominated state of Utah.  But ebay has built the World’s first energy independent collection center, according to ebay itself and Bloom Energy.

Don’t forget ebay has a data center in Arizona called Project Mercury.  In Las Vegas, Nevada, there is what’s being called the largest privately run data collection center in the World.  It’s operated by a company called Switch.  It’s users are “ebay, Google, Sony, Zappos, HP, Cisco, Activision, Intuit, University of Phoenix, Yahoo, MySpace, eHarmony, Sony or Disney, or any of those guys who have games on the internet.”-Rob Roy, Switch

Switch continues to expand its Las Vegas operations and will eventually have 2.2 million square feet (670560 square meters) of data center space (currently they’re just over 400-thousand square feet)!  The state of Nevada was influenced to give the green light to data collection centers by a report from Brookings Mountain West.  A former executive of Switch has started his own data collection company called Cobalt.

ebay’s Topaz data stealing center (created with help from Dell and Hewlett Packard) in Utah is located in South Jordan (just south of Salt Lake City).  It’s not new, but the fact that it is now independent of the power grid is.  It’s powered by Bloom Energy’s fuel cells, solar panels, and a heat waste recovery system is also being built for the center, to insure 100% power grid independence.  ebay’s own video presentation about the collection center states the center was built in partnership with federal and state governments!

ebay has also innovated a way that company (government?) officials can watch your data stream in real time.  It’s called Digital Service Efficiency (DSE).  According to Network Computing it appears to the user as “….a dashboard that displays power load, number of users, energy supplied and other measures of IT effectiveness along with the amount of revenue generated per user, cost of employing that user, carbon footprint and other measures of business activity.”

(note that in the above quote, as a “user” of ebay you are considered an ’employee’, not a client)

According to ebay officials, this real time data dashboard (DSE) is intended to increase the number of transactions per kilowatt hour.  ebay also claims that they save millions of dollars in electrical power usage every time they increase the efficiency of their data collection process.

ebay says it will share any non-specific company DSE techologies with other companies, that are part of a consortium known as The Green Grid.  The current board members of The Green Grid are AMD, Cisco, Dell, EMC2, Emerson, Google, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Schneider.

By the way, ebay’s new massive data collection center is just north of the federal government’s massive data collection center, located on the Utah Army National Guard’s Camp Williams.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that ebay got a $38.2 million tax break from Utah, for its new customer service center in Draper!   (as a ebay user I say Utah taxpayers got ripped!)

According to ebay, their motivation to build massive data storage centers is to reduce “environmental impacts”!  Hey, if you weren’t collecting individual’s data you wouldn’t need data centers at all!  Why don’t you try that for saving the environment?

(the correct official new spelling for ebay is all lower case.  why can’t you mainstreamer newsies get it right?)
