God is Evil: Israel directly controls USS George H.W. Bush! So much for Independence Day!

06 JUL 2017 (10:53 UTC-07 Tango 06) 15 Tir 1396/11 Shawwal 1438/13 Ding Wei 4715

“It’s the first time in history that a head of state had the opportunity to address the members of the ship.  It was an extraordinary moment.  I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder to be an American.”-David Friedman, U.S. Ambassador to Israel

While you’all ‘Mericans were gettin’ ready to celebrate your supposed Independence Day, on 03 JUL 2017, in an unprecedented moment, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came aboard the USS George H.W. Bush and gave a speech to USN personnel.  Never before has a leader of a foreign country given a speech to U.S. military personnel!

The Israeli delegation were given a personal tour of the ship by Rear Admiral Kenneth Whitesell and Captain Will Pennington.  The USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) was sent to Israel “to enhance U.S.-Israel relations as the two nations reaffirm their continued commitment to the collective security of the European and Middle East Regions.”  (note that Israel is considered a defender of Europe, after decades of denying that it is actually a European colony)

Italeri 1:720 Deutschland, Lutzow, Scheer & Graf Spee

Italeri recently re-issued its old but nice looking Deutschland class heavy cruisers (they are not battleships) in 1:720 scale.

These kits represent the class before the 1939-40 rebuilds (refit).  They were first issued in the late 1970s, and have excellent detail for the scale (which made some of the larger scale ship kits look even worse than they were; 1:600 Airfix, Aurora, 1:570 Revell, etc).  In the 1980s Testors issued them in the United States.  Italeri issued them again in the 1990s.

Deutschland: Parts distinct to the first ship and prior to the 1939 update and name change.  Deutschland originally had ‘exposed’ torpedo tubes, but the Italeri kit comes with the armored tubes.

Scheer: Parts distinct to the second ship of the line, prior to its 1939-40 rebuild.

Graff Spee: Parts distinct to its final year of life, 1939, with one exception; the kit does not come with the ‘mattress/bed spring’ radar that should be mounted on the front of the tower range finder.  Note that prior to 1939 Graf Spee was fitted out similar to Scheer, so if you want to model an earlier Graf Spee just buy the Scheer kit.

Lützow: Parts distinct to the 1939 update to Deutschland (when its name was changed to Lützow), but prior to its 1940 rebuild.

For decades these ships were called battleships by the victors of World War Two, which is ridiculous since battleships ranged in the 30-thousand to 50-thousand tonnes standard displacement range.  It’s the result of official British empire government backed news media propaganda (today called Fake News) coming up with the Fake News phrase Pocket Battleship. It was an attempt by the British government to rile up their subjects to support war with Nazi Germany.  Nazi and Blitzkrieg were also Fake News terms made up by the British main stream news media, they were not German terms, although the Germans liked the word Blitzkrieg and used it themselves.  What should be noted is that the Deutschland class of ships were not constructed by the ‘Nazis’, but by the western imposed Weimar government in the early 1930s, before the NSDAP (National Sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei) was democratically elected to power. While these ships violated treaties limiting warship sizes, the violation was initiated by the Weimar government, not the NSDAP (incorrectly called Nazi by the British Fake News Media).

Under treaty cruisers were limited to 10-thousand tonnes (metric tons) standard displacement.  According to some sources we will never know the true displacement because Weimar bureaucrats altered the official data. Today it’s generally accepted that Deutschland was just over the 10-thousand tonnes limit, Scheer was closer to 13-thousand and Graf Spee closer to 14-thousand tonnes.

The differences in weight between the ‘sister’ ships is due to subtle alterations in the hulls of Scheer and Graf Spee to accommodate extra armor protection.  Official suspect data give the same length and width for all ships, but hull height for Scheer and Graf Spee is 0.2 meter shorter that Deutschland.  I would assume that with the extra armor the hull side thickness was greater than Deutschland’s (naval researcher H.T. Lenton says Spee/Scheer were about 1 meter [3 feet] wider than Deutschland-Lutzow).

Knowing that official data for the ships are suspect it’s no use getting knit-picky about accuracy.  The best thing is to use photographs of the ship you want to depict at the time period your interested in.

Graf Spee was the first to go, sunk by its own crew in South America in 1939, after being damaged by three Royal Navy cruisers.  During its South Atlantic adventure Graf Spee underwent attempts at deception, making itself look like a full fledged battleship with extra gun turret and exhaust funnel, and even painting the name Deutschland on the side of the hull.

Lützow and Scheer lived longer than anybody expected. Not only did the British want them sunk, but, at the protests of the Deutsche KriegsMarine (DKM), Adolph Hitler ordered them scrapped in 1943.

Scheer ended up being used as a training ship and artillery platform against Soviet ground forces.  Scheer was sunk in April 1945 by Royal Air Force bombers, a month before Germany surrendered.

Lützow was disabled and used as an artillery platform against the Soviets, supposedly destroyed by its crew as the Soviets overran the port. Western news sources reported that the Soviets had raised Lützow for the purpose of scrapping it.  In 2000 it was discovered the Soviets used Lützow for target practice, sinking it in 1947.

The only disappointing thing I find about these Italeri kits is that no decals come with them.  It would be nice to have each ship’s bow shield/crest and the Coronel nameplate on the front of Graf Spee’s tower.  (you can adapt 1:700 aftermarket decals to these 1:720 scale kits, as well as PE sets)

U.S. TAX DOLLARS PAY RUSSIANS TO DELIVER C-130 SIMULATOR TO U.S. MARINES IN IWAKUNI

Government Incompetence: Vacuum cleaner causes fire that results in $400 million repair bill for U.S. taxpayers!

It turns out that a “massive” fire on a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine, on May 24,  was caused by a vacuum cleaner!  It burned for several hours and sent several personnel to the hospital. The sub was docked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, in the U.S. state of Maine.

Now comes the news that the fire was caused by a vacuum cleaner “…stored in an unoccupied space…”, and that the “…initial rough repair cost…” will be $400 million plus 10%!!!

And guess who pays for the U.S. Navy’s mistakes?  The U.S. taxpayer!

At least the Russian’s claimed their recent submarine fire was an act of sabotage by U.S. agents.

White Horse & World War 3: Russian navy protects Syria, Turkey seizes ship and trucks with ‘banned’ weapons

I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

After a 48 hour stop over in a Syrian port, the Russian navy is now conducting maneuvers in the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian fleet is led by the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, which carries Su-33 fighter jets and Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters.

The five ship fleet traveled 6,000 nautical miles (6,904 miles) to protect Syria. It also took part in war games with the Greek navy.

Also being reported is that a Russian cargo ship might have delivered military equipment to the Syrian government.  Turkish officials seized the Russian ship after it left Syria.  Turkish port authorities have only stated that they found “dangerous cargo” on the ship, which violated current European Union arms sanctions against Syria.  Because the Russian ship tried to dock in Turkey, Turkish officials say that gives them the right to seize the ship under EU arms sanctions (Turkey is not a full member of the EU, it is an “associate member”).

This action comes after Turkish Customs officials seized four trucks heading to Syria from Iran.  They claim the trucks were carrying weapons.  This is confusing info because the Iranian media continue to issue reports that Turkey supports Iran and Syria!

World War 3: Russian Delta class submarine fire being investigated as possible sabotage, Hugo Chavez says the U.S. is behind unrest in Russia

“Experienced criminal investigators of the Main Military Investigation Committee flew in from Moscow to provide practical assistance to the investigation team on the site. Fifty witnesses have been questioned. Investigators are studying the documentation seized at the dockyard.”-Vladimir Markin, Investigation Committee

The Russian government said the fire aboard the Yekaterinburg Delta class submarine is no cause for concern regarding nuclear radiation.  The reactors had been shut down, and the nuclear missiles removed before the sub went into dry dock in the Murmansk Region.

However, there is now an investigation, for possible sabotage because of the way the fire ignited the outer rubberized hull.  Workers claimed a scaffolding caught fire, and that set the hull on fire.  The fire was so damaging that officials are deciding if it’s worth it to repair the sub.

In Venezuela, President Hugo Chavez said the United States is acting behind the scenes to destabilize Vladimir Putin:  “The United States is trying to undermine his leadership, split Russia and destabilize its government and realize its imperialist project to create world hegemony.”

Chavez said this is how U.S. leaders operate because they do not support true democracy: “What is happening in Russia, they will try here, because these people know they cannot win the elections, either politically or mathematically.”

World War 3: U.S. Navy to establish new base in South Korea, China the target

There is a growing resentment in the two Koreas, and also in Okinawa and Guam. Everywhere people are saying, ‘We have had enough of the US military occupation, it is time to close down the bases and time to find different ways for achieving security.'”-Christine Ahn, Korea Policy Institute

To remember the 2010 sinking of a South Korean ship, South Korea commemorated a new naval base.  It will be the United States who uses that new base.

Local Koreans are opposed to the base.  The base will be completed by 2015.  Analyst say it will increase tensions between the U.S. and China: “If this base is tied to the U.S. missile defense system, it might be part of the U.S. strategy to contain China. Beijing is concerned with the U.S. military getting closer to its territories.  This deal is going to foment a regional arms race, which pits Korea in between the U.S. and China.”- Christine Ahn, Korea Policy Institute

Comment by U.S. Navy Officer indicates seriousness of Radition Leaks

“The immediate action was to get out of the area,” said USN Commander Jeff Davis.  This was part of the explanation of why U.S. ships were moved away from Japan.

In just a few minutes 17 personnel were exposed to a months worth of radiation, even though the helicopters they were in were 60 miles away from the Fukushima nuclear plants.  The radiation clouds are moving eastward, away from Japan, which could explain why radiation levels being taking onshore in Japan look low.

Gregory Jaczko, of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, claims there is little threat of radiation spreading to U.S. territories.

If anyone is keeping track of statements made by government officials in the past few years, the track record shows their statements can not, and should not, be trusted.

Reactor 2 Critical, U.S. Navy says Aircrews exposed to Radiation

NHK reporting that reactor 2, at Fukushima plant 1, is no longer venting and attempts at cooling have failed.  The reactor’s vents closed automatically and can not be opened. Sprayers spraying water on the rods stopped working.

U.S. Navy says U.S. helicopters were hit by radioactive plume while flying over coast line of disaster area. 17 service members tested positive for radiation contamination. The U.S. Navy is now moving their ships further away from Japan. At the time the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier was 160km (100 miles) away.
