Cyber-Dome: Idaho joins Israel in new global cyber dominance operation?

11 March 2022  (16:05-UTC-07 Tango 06) 20 Esfand 1400/07 Sha’ban 1443/09 Gui Mao 4720

“The cybersecurity market has evolved rapidly since the beginning of the pandemic, especially when it comes to identifying and developing talented cybersecurity personnel, and providing them an environment where they can make an impact, be challenged and feel successful.”-Edward Vasko, Boise State University’s Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity

On 02MAR2022, Idaho’s Boise State University (BSU) announced their Cyberdome program was up and running.  BSU’s Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity is using the Open XDR Platform created by a company called Stellar Cyber (interview with co-founder of Steller Cyber, who blames Pandemic fearmongering mandates for the sudden skyrocketing use of Cyber Domes).  The official reason for this Cyberdome program is to provide rural areas with cyber security, but the program will also offer ‘free’ (state taxpayer funded) cyber security to more than 750 state taxpayer funded agencies (Idaho instituted a federal taxpayer funded Department of Defense cybersecurity operation through its National Guard several years ago and it does not have a good track record of halting cyber crimes).

(Boise State welcomes local governments to the ‘Cyberdome’)

BSU’s Cyberdome operation will be staffed by students, and supposedly is funded by grant money, at least until 2024 or 2025. In July 2021, the Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission’s Higher Education Research Council granted BSU $700-thousand per year for at least three years, to create and operate a Cyberdome program.  Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission is part of the Higher Education Research Council, which in turn is part of the state taxpayer funded Idaho Board of Education. The ‘grant money’ comes from taxpayers.

Maybe it is a coincidence, but in December 2021 the U.S. Cyber Command, and Israel’s Joint Cyber Defense Division, conducted joint CyberDome operations within the U.S., for the sixth time!   According to The Times of Israel, just weeks before the 2021 joint operation with the U.S., Israel’s Joint Cyber Defense Division also conducted a CyberDome operation that involved ‘simulated’ cyber attacks against the financial institutions of ten countries!

It turns out there are Cyberdome operations everywhere, some presented as government operations, some as private sector operations, there’s even a non-profit Cyberdome led by former U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials that helps ‘protect’ politicians in the United States (it’s called US CyberDome)!

United Arab Emirates based ISnSC claims to have an autonomous Cyber Dome, which can integrate with XDR.

Finland based Nokia has an 5G XDR they call NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome.

There is a CyberDome operation in the African country of Nigeria, and it turns out it is the same CyberDome operation based in Israel!

Bynet Communications in Israel, claims it designed CyberDome. But as you’ll see below, another Israeli company also makes that claim.

In the country of India, the Kerala Police have their own ‘joint’ private/public funded Cyberdome operation.

Israeli Cyber-Dome is the developer of the security add-on Magen. Magen is a security layer that claims to lower the risk of being spied on or having personal data stolen.

“We are shifting to a mindset of ‘Allied by Design’ as we look at how we acquire future space systems to build out a robust and resilient space architecture. We know our commercial partners are moving at the speed of innovation and by working together through endeavors like our joint ISPD, both nations were able to develop a common set of requirements then seek the most cutting-edge technology from all across the globe.”-Deanna Ryals, U.S. Space and Missile Systems Center

On 15JUL2021, the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) on Los Angeles Air Force Base, in California, hosted officials from the United Kingdom (the lead member of the British Empire known as Commonwealth of Nations) for a presentation (called a Space Pitch Day) designed to reinforce the U.K.’s role in the United States Space Force (USSF).

“The U.S. and the U.K. have collaborated together in multiple capability areas and initiatives. From the International Space Pitch Day held last November to efforts across satellite communication, Space Domain Awareness, and Space Command and Control, we have had some big wins, and I’m confident we have many more to come.”-Lieutenant General John F. Thompson, SMC

On 08JUL2021, officials from the Kingdom of the Netherlands also attended a USSF meeting at the SMC. The official press info openly stated that the USSF was part of a NATO plan “…to ensure space superiority.”

Idaho joins DoD’s Cyber Squadron of the Future

13 January 2016 (04:37 UTC-07 Tango 01)/23 Dey 1394/02 Rabi’a’-Thani 1437/04 Ding-Chou (12th month) 4713

“This is the beginning. This is a massive amount of force structure the Guard has laid into this mission, but this is just the first layer.”– Colonel Kelly Hughes, USAF Space and Cyber Warfare Operations Division, Air National Guard Readiness Center

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) created Cyber Squadron of the Future now includes The Gem State National Guard (state militia).

It’s part of Governor Butch Otter’s plan to spend at least $1-million state tax dollars creating a state cyber security operation led by Boise State University and the U.S. Navy’s Idaho National Laboratory.

In next door Colorado, the U.S. Air Force revealed that the 50th Space Wing at Schriever AFB will be directly involved: “The future of Team Five-O is bright and there are opportunities on the horizon:  Space Mission Force, Space Training Transformation, Cyber Network Defense, Cyber Squadron of the Future, Community Gathering Place, Youth Center and new services and support for our installation just to name a few and I know there will be others…”-Colonel DeAnna M. Burt, commander

It’s hoped that by 2019 Cyber Squadron of the Future will be staffed by Air and Army National Guard units from 23 states.  The DoD says attacks on internet systems are becoming more dangerous as more and more of a country’s utility infrastructure and financial system are directly controlled through the internet.  Recent cyber wargames included cyber attacks that cause food shortages.

World War 3: U.S. accuses Venezuela of cyber war, Venezuela closes consulate in Florida

Livia Acosta Noguera, Venezuela’s consul general in Miami, Florida, was accused by U.S. President Barack Obama of being a cyber terrorist!  She left Florida this week.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he will now close down their consulate in Florida.  Chavez said his intelligence officials discovered that Obama was going to make the accusation back in December: “We already knew this was going to happen.”

World War 3: Pentagon to kill computer hackers, pushing for cyber weapons

A 12 page U.S. Department of Defense report, given to Congress, says all options are on the table for dealing with computer hackers: “When warranted, we will respond to hostile attacks in cyberspace as we would to any other threat to our country. We reserve the right to use all necessary means; diplomatic, informational, military and economic, to defend our nation, our allies, our partners and our interests.”

The President of the United States would make the ultimate call. But analysts say the policy could open a can of worms, after all, if China was able to trace a hack back to the U.S. who’s to say they wouldn’t be legally justified in attacking the U.S. hacker?

Back at the beginning of November, Pentagon officials revealed they are pushing for offensive cyber weapon systems: “We are shifting our investments to activities that promise more convergence with the threat and that recognize the needs of the Department of Defense. Malicious cyber attacks are not merely an existential threat to our bits and bytes. They are a real threat to our physical systems, including our military systems.”-Regina Dugan, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

The irony is that most of the destructive computer hacks, and/or virus attacks, seem to be coming from the United States!  Does that mean our own military is going to start bombing our own computer geeks?

U.S. military computers hacked by ?, weapons codes stolen

“Given the military targets, and that millions of compromised keys are in circulation, this is not over.”-Rick Moy, NSS Labs

Reuters reporting that several U.S. military contractors have been hacked.  The cyber attack might have snagged codes for high tech weapons being used in Afghanistan and Iraq.

ECM corporation admits that several of its RSA security keys were copied by hackers several months ago.  This played a role in allowing hackers to access dozens of contractor databases, possibly for weapons codes.  So far officials are not saying what the hackers actually did.

Proof the Japanese need to be more social; Japanese scientists build cyber ‘french’ kissing machine

Japanese scientists are working on a cyber ‘french’ kissing machine.  The machine works by sensing the actions of your tongue, then transmitting that to another machine across the internet.

It’s hoped that the machine will help Japanese people to interact more intimately over the internet  (maybe they should get out more?).  Scientists hope to recreate “…the sense of taste, the manner of breathing, and the moistness of the tongue.” At first it sounds pathetic, but wait, there is a profit motive; marketing ideas include getting a kiss from your favorite celebrity.

Why a french kissing machine?  Scientist say it’s still too hard to mimic the movements of lips.

Iran hit with another cyber attack

“However, certain characteristics about the Stars worm have been identified, including that it is compatible with the (targeted) system and that the damage is very slight in the initial stage, and it is likely to be mistaken for executable files of the government.”-Gholam-Reza Jalali, Iran’s Passive Defense Organization

No other details were given.  Iran’s nuclear plant was hit with a computer worm last year.  Iranian officials are blaming the United States and Israel, along with Siemens, for that cyber attack.  Siemens made the computer software for Iran’s nuclear plant, and Iranian officials say the cyber attack would have required knowledge of the computer software.
