Corporate Evil: TEPCo reveals no change in radiation contamination levels at Fukushima! Still as high as the melts downs in March 2011!!! More proof of China Syndrome!

28 July 2013 (00:36 UTC-07 Tango)/20 Ramadan 1434/06 Mordad 1392/21 Ji-Wie (6th month) 4711

More than two years after at least three GE designed reactors melted down at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, Tokyo Electric (TEPCo) reveals that radiation contamination levels are just as high now as they were in 2011!

Specifically, contaminated water that’s been flooding the tunnel under Reactor 2 ever since the melt downs, is still just as deadly as it was in April 2011.  The latest water sample showed cesium levels almost unchanged!  And TEPCo officials still aren’t sure where the water is coming from!  Here’s a clue: How about Reactor 2 is suffering China Syndrome, the melt down breached the bottom of the containment vessel, and all the water used to cool it, along with the nuclear fuel, is flooding into the tunnels under the nuclear plant?

TEPCo is trying to downplay the findings by saying it’s the same water from two years ago, it somehow never drained despite the evidence that contaminated water is pouring into the Pacific Ocean.  Another problem with TEPCo’s claim that it’s stagnant water; since April 2013 TEPCo has detected increased cesium, strontium and tritium contamination in newly dug water test wells around the reactors.  Also, TEPCo has constantly been fighting radioactive water flooding from what they say is an unknown source.

Just three days ago TEPCo had to halt an experimental water treatment system on Reactor 1, because it to began to leak.   They discovered holes in the weld seams of the massive water tanks used on the new Alps multi-nuclide removal system.  Officials suspect chloride ion and hypochlorous acid in radioactive water corroded the welds.

Government Incompetence: Forced re-start of Ohi Nuclear plant backfires; emergency at Reactor 3, missing cooling water! People not told until the day after!

About a week ago the Japanese federal government forced the re-start of the Ohi nuclear power plant.  Prime Minister Noda gave the order, saying “…Japanese society can not survive!” without it.

Now, 20 June 2012, the operators of the Ohi disaster reactors, Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCo) revealed a potentially major problem with Reactor 3, and they didn’t discover it until an alarm sounded when they tried to re-start it!

Reactor 3 has lost cooling water, and KEPCo officials don’t know why.  Just like TEPCo officials at Fukushima Daiichi, they believe the water got out through leaks but so far they can’t find any!

The alarm sounded when the water dropped by 5 centimeters (almost 2 inches).  Doesn’t sound like much but realize the cooling tanks are huge and it could amount to tons of water lost!

People living near the nuclear plant (in their wisdom the Japanese officials allowed nuclear plants to be built near homes, and vice verse) are outraged because they were not told about the problem until 13 hours later.  They were already angry because most of them opposed the re-start.

KEPCo said it did not warn the residents because there is no law in Japan requiring them to do so, in regards to the amount of water lost.

Ohi’s Reactor 4 is also scheduled for re-start.  The reactors at Ohi were supplied by the U.S. company Westinghouse.

Corporate Incompetence: TEPCo claims they’ve handed out billions in disaster claims, yet individuals still demand ‘Show me the money!’

On March 11, 2012, Tokyo Electric Power Company officials claimed they’ve handed out $5.4 billion in compensation for the nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daiichi.

There’s a major problem; almost half the people who’re supposed to be getting that say they’re still waiting for it!

NHK reporting that about 40% of the people who’ve applied for the compensation are still stuck in application limbo.  People say TEPCo is deliberately making the process difficult.

TEPCo didn’t even start paying out compensation until October 2011, when they were finally ordered to by the Japanese government!  If 40% of the applicants are stuck in limbo, then who got that $5.4 billion paid out so far?

Government/Corporate Incompetence: Fukushima Daiichi Reactor 2 heats up, again, still don’t know why. Can you say Re-Criticality?

12 February 2012, Tokyo Electric Power Company (now effectively state owned due to running out of money) reporting that Fukushima Daiichi Reactor 2 is still heating up, despite efforts to cool it down.

Temps are now at 80 degrees Celsius (176 Fahrenheit).  TEPCo had increased cooling water injection to 14.6 tons per hour!

On 05 February, TEPCo reported temps up to 73.3 Celsius (163.9 Fahrenheit), and began injecting 10.6 tons of water per hour.  At first they thought the rise in temperature was due to recent plumbing work.

If the reactor exceeds 100 Celsius it will no longer be in “cold shut down”, and could experience re-criticality.

TEPCo is now revealing that the thermometers used on the reactors are not accurate, they have a margin of error of 20 degrees! Also, two other thermometers, on Reactor 2, are indicating temps of 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit), or lower.  So which thermometer is correct?

TEPCo has taken gas samples and said xenon levels are normal for the cooler temperatures, so they are now hoping that the thermometer reading the high temps is defective.  To be safe they plan to increase water injection to 18 tons per hour.

Japanese government reveals just how bad General Electric designed Fukushima Nuclear accident could have been (or might still be)!

Two weeks after the nuclear disaster started, at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, the Japanese Atomic Energy Commission submitted a worst case scenario to the government.

It could have been (and might still be) worse than the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The official reason why the report was not made public, is because government officials did not consider it an official document!  The real reason is that the report was quickly dismissed by officials, and then forgotten, until it was discovered in an office of the Atomic Energy Commission, at the end of 2011.

Currently there is a 20 km (12 miles) mandatory evacuation zone around Fukushima Daiichi, some experts say it should be expanded.  Under the worst case scenario it should be 170 km (105.6 miles)!

The scenario also called for voluntary evacuations out to 250 kilometers (155 miles).  That would include all of Tokyo!

The nuclear reactors are considered in cold shut down, but they are far from stable.  Currently, Reactor 2 keeps heating up and Tokyo Electric Power Company officials don’t know why!

Government & Corporate Incompetence: After months of expelling radiation into the environment, Fukushima Daiichi officially in Cold Shut Down

Tokyo Electric Power Company officials say that on 16 December 2011 (the day the U.S. Postal Service will be in official default) they will declare the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Cold Shut Down mode.

The Cold Shut Down could be officially announced by Prime Minister Noda Yoshihiko.

Of course this is after they let millions and millions of becquerels of radiation pour out into the air and water, along with the radioactive remains of the melted fuel rods!

Cold Shut Down means that the water being used to flush out, I mean, ‘cool down’ the reactors remains below boiling point, which is an indication that most of the fuel rods are used up.

There must be so little left inside the reactors that the temps have come down. I guess that’s one way to do it, I personally like the way the Soviets handled Chernobyl: Sand, lead and concrete.

Government & Corporate Incompetence: TEPCo admits fuel rods melted through reactor cores! Serious melt down of 3 reactors at GE designed Fukushima Daiichi!

Tokyo Electric Power Company has been forced to admit that serous melt downs took place in reactors 1, 2 and 3, of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

Independent researchers confirmed that melt downs did occur, and were severe enough to melt through the reactor cores into the bottom of the containment vessels. Some melted fuel rods penetrated as much as 57 centimeters (22 inches) into the containment vessels.  The bottom of the containment vessel is made of thick concrete, with a steel plate on top.

TEPCo now says 100% of the fuel rods in Reactor 1 melted, all the way through the core into the containment vessel!  57% of Reactor 2’s fuel rods melted, and 63% of Reactor 3’s fuel rods melted.

Many months ago, I posted how nuclear experts, who were being ignored by the main stream media, explained that the amount and type of radiation coming from Fukushima Daiichi could only mean melt down was occurring.  Somehow the main stream news media found other nuclear ‘experts’ (including many who work for the U.S. government, and the U.S. nuclear power industry) who countered those claims.

The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant reactors were designed by General Electric.

Company Hero? Manager of Fukushima Daiichi resigns, major health problems!

The manager of Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant was forced to resign, because of major health problems.

Yoshida Masao has been directly dealing with the situation at the nuclear plant since the 11 March 2011 disasters.  Yoshida said a major health problem was discovered during a medical check up.  TEPCo officials refused to give any information, or to confirm if was the result of long term exposure to high levels of radiation.

Yoshida said there were three times he, and the workers at the Fukushima Daiichi plant, thought they were going to die: The explosions of reactors 1 and 3, and the coolant pump failures on Reactor 2.

Corporate Incompetence meets Investor Vengeance: TEPCo stockholders sue Nuclear Disaster Reactor company for $71 billion!

42 major Tokyo Electric Power Company stockholders are demanding that auditors for the company sue the 61 current, and former, corporate executive members of the nuclear disaster reactor company.

They claim the executives failed to keep their promise to make the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant earthquake and tsunami proof.  Japan has been suffering from the ongoing radioactive emissions for more than eight months.

The shareholders want more than 5.5 trillion yen (U.S.$71 billion), the highest ever demanded in a lawsuit in Japan.

The investors said if the TEPCo auditors did not file a lawsuit against the executives, within 60 days, they would do so themselves.

Corporate Incompetence: TEPCo retracts Fukushima melt down claim!

On 02 November 2011, Tokyo Electric Power Company said Reactor 2 at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant was in melt down, again. Now they changed their mind!

TEPCo now says the level of xenon radiation they detected is too low to be from spontaneous fission.  Can these guys get anything right?
