On 01SEP2023, North Dakota Army National Guard’s 188th Engineer Company returned from their deployment to Texas. On 15OCT2023, local newspapers report that North Dakota Army National Guard’s 817th Engineer Company deployed to Texas, to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP, aka Border Patrol) with operations along the border with Mexico. However, local TV reports said the deployment was at the request of the Governor of Texas:
