Government Incompetence: U.S. backed Columbia sells secret spy documents to rebels and drug dealers

“Ever since it was known that DAS would close down, lots of people started doing business and looking for ways to make a few bucks. Others started pilfering information as a kind of insurance, in case one day they would face a criminal investigation or disciplinary hearing.”-A former unnamed DAS detective

In retaliation for the shutting down of Columbia’s Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad (state intelligence agency), it appears that employees sold off secret documents to the highest bidders.

According to the Colombian magazine La Semana, over the past two years tens of thousands of classified documents have been sold to militias, foreign governments and drug traffickers.

The scandal came just days after the former head of DAS, Jorge Noguera, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for colluding with U.S. backed right wing  paramilitary death squads.

World War 3: Obama about to go all Nixon on Pakistan’s ass

“I think that the fact that there are links that exist between the Pakistani government and the Haqqani network, the nature of those can be assessed and is complicated. But there is no question that they have safe havens in Pakistan.”– Jay Carney, White House spokesman

September 28, U.S. President Barack Obama has endorsed the claims of Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, who accused Pakistan’s intelligence agency of “exporting” violence to Afghanistan.

In 1969 President Nixon (a Republican) secretly ordered the bombing of Cambodia and Laos (Operation Menu), believing they were helping the Viet Cong in South Vietnam.  The Operation Menu bombing lasted from March 1969 to May 1970, and failed to stop Viet Cong, or North Vietnam’s efforts to unite the country.  The failure led to Nixon making peace with the Viet Cong and North Vietnam.

Will Obama (a Democrat) follow in Nixon’s footsteps?

But wait, we’re already bombing Pakistan with our UAVs.  Oh, but the U.S. was already secretly bombing Cambodia under President Johnson (a Democrat), four years before President Nixon!  It turns out that Nixon’s bombing of Cambodia and Laos were simply an escalation of Johnson’s actions.

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Obama had to consider military action against Pakistan.

Passing the Buck: Obama blames Arab Uprisings and Europe for bad economy in the U.S.

“The changes that have taken place in the Middle East sent oil prices up, and that gave a shock to the world economy.”-Barack Obama, President of the United States

First off, President Obama, oil prices are no where what they were a couple of years ago. What’s been driving up the price of gas (which is just as high as when oil was more than $100.00 per barrel) is not the current price of oil, but refineries that’re purposely keeping production of gas below the demand for gas (which makes the price go up).

Secondly, it was your attack on Libya, President Obama, that caused oil prices to go up!

President Obama also blamed the Europeans: “Some of the challenges that we’ve had over the last several months actually have to do with the fact that in Europe we haven’t seen them deal with their banking system and their financial system as effectively as they needed to.”

First off, if the U.S. banking system wasn’t so involved with the European banking system the U.S. wouldn’t be as affected by their problems.

Secondly, many of the actions taken by European banks, that got them into trouble, were the same mistakes that got U.S. banks into trouble.  By the way, those banking troubles started here in the United States, and have yet to be resolved!

Stop passing the buck President Obama!

Government Incompetence: Obama staffers say Denver is located in…Wyoming?

U.S. President Barack Obama just finished a three state campaign; California, Washington and Colorado.  There’s one problem, the White House press credentials indicate Wyoming, not Colorado.

According to the press credential Obama made stops in San Diego, San Jose and Los Angeles, California; Seattle, Washington and Denver,…Wyoming?

I did a quick check, and no Denver, Wyoming showed up.  I guess there’s only one Denver, and that’s in Colorado.  Is this a Freudian slip, showing just how out of touch those on the east coast are with those on the west coast?

United Police States of America: Sicko Miami ICE boss was a covert child pornographer

The boss of south Florida’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is in jail facing charges of child pornography.

“According to the indictment, between March 2010 and September 2010, Mangione allegedly transported and received visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The indictment also alleges that Mangione possessed electronically stored messages that contained additional images of child pornography during the same time period.”-U.S. Justice Department statement

The arrest brings into question the competency of all ICE agents, because not only is the former Miami ICE boss charged with child pornography, but he is being evaluated for psychological problems, at his attorney’s request!

Also, one of the tasks of ICE agents is to investigate human trafficking, which includes child pornography!

Current ICE officials say they are cooperating with the Justice Department’s ongoing investigation.

World War 3: Venezuela points out hypocrisy of U.S. led NATO war on Libya, proof the UN is controlled by the U.S.

“Right now there is a very serious threat to global peace: a new cycle of colonial wars, which started in Libya, with the sinister goal of refreshing the capitalist global system, within a structural crisis today, but without any limit to its consumer and destructive voracity.”-Nicolas Maduro Moros, Foreign Minister of Venezuela

Moros says the war in Libya was pushed by the mainstream media: “The logic of war having its spearhead in transnational mass media: let us bear in mind that the ‘Libyan Case’ was brought before the Security Council on the basis of intense propaganda by the western mass media, who lied about the alleged bombing of innocent civilians by the Libyan Air Force, not to mention the grotesque media setting of the Green Square of Tripoli.”

Moros points out that the so called no fly zone was anything but: “It’s worth wondering: what has the no-fly zone established by Security Council resolution become? How could NATO perform more than 20,000 missions against Libyan people if there was a no-fly zone? After the Libyan Air Force was completely annihilated, the continued ‘humanitarian’ bombing shows that the west, through NATO, intends to impose their interests in North Africa, turning Libya into a colonial protectorate.”

Moros points out that NATO violated the arms embargo they were supposed to be enforcing: “How can we say that an arms embargo was imposed on Libya, when it was NATO itself that introduced thousands of heavy weapons to support a violent upheaval against that country’s legitimate government? The embargo was, of course, meant to prevent the Libyan government from defending its sovereignty. This shows, once again, the cruel logic of international relations, where the law only applies to the weak.”

Moros warns that the United Nations is a puppet of Europe and the United States, and that will be the UN’s undoing: “If its secretary-general, along with the president of the International Criminal Court, take part in an act of war, as in the case of Libya, nothing can be expected from the current structure of this organization and there is no longer time for reforms: the UN does not accept any reform whatsoever, the illness within it is deadly.”

Rage against the System: U.S. Postal Workers finally standing up, protesting U.S. Congress created postal crisis!

I stated in earlier postings that the U.S. Congress is behind the USPS crisis!  Now postal workers, risking job loss, are protesting the actions of Congress in destroying the Postal Service.

Recently, PBS Newshour’s interviewed U.S. postmaster general, Patrick Donahoe, and Fredric Rolando, president of the National Association of Letter Carriers.  They both pointed out that the U.S. Congress is holding back on money earned by the USPS, and that was a primary reason the Postal Service is in trouble.

Also, U.S. Congressman, and the main stream media, continue the false notion that the USPS gets money from taxpayers, and therefore cutting the USPS would help the government’s budget cuts.  Many citizens still believe that the USPS is paid by tax money!

The United States Postal Service does not make money off taxpayers, they are solely funded by the postage they charge (prices are controlled by U.S. Congress, not the USPS), and other products they sell.  The cuts being made to the USPS will have no affect on U.S. government debt!

Now members of all five unions representing postal workers will go on strike, violating their contracts (to be safe the postal unions are not calling them strikes, they’re calling them “rallies”).  Why violate their contracts? Why not?  It’s become obvious that the U.S. Congress wants to shut them down anyway!

Congress is demanding that USPS make another $5.5 billion in payments to Congress (supposedly to meet required Federal benefits).  But this is what’s causing the problems.  Last year Congress overcharged the USPS, then refused to give a refund!

One union official says the U.S. Congress has actually overcharged the USPS to the equivalent of 75 years worth of Federal retirement plan contributions.  This leads me to believe the Congress is using the non-taxpayer Postal Service funds to pay for running a broke government!

United Police Kingdom: British military documentary justifies killing unarmed civilians

“The fact that British soldiers are reduced to watching what are effectively snuff movies shows the complete failure of the project in Afghanistan. It’s nothing to do with democracy, but a failure of war that is trickling down and resulting in a mental degradation among ground troops. Afghanistan is a dreadful situation and it is no better than it was a decade ago.”-Andrew Burgin, Stop the War Coalition

Burgin is talking about a documentary that’s being shown to British troops, called Kill TV nights, part of a three part series called Fighting on the Frontline.  Officially it’s meant to desensitize troops, but it also justifies killing civilians.

In one scene a commander is actually warning peers not to mention any of the possible war crimes they’ve just committed: “This is not for discussion with anybody else; keep it quiet about what you see up here. It’s not because we’ve done anything wrong. But we might have done.”

In another scene an Afghan woman is targeted, and you can hear the helicopter pilots call her “snake with tits”.

A voice in the documentary sums up the attitude of the evil British Red Coat military: “I have absolutely no dramas with it. None at all. I don’t really care whether they think it’s a fair fight.”

I wounder if this will be the same attitude used against the people of the United Kingdom, when the protests really get going?

What Economic Recovery? Japan to help bailout Greece, it’s an effort to save the Japanese car industry

September 27, Japan’s Finance Minister Jun Azumi, said Japan is ready to help Greece, possibly by buying more Greek government bonds.

However, Japan is a little cash strapped itself and is hoping the Europeans do something quick, to turn around the collapsing European economy. The reason; Japan’s car industry is relying on a European, as well as U.S., economic recovery.

Chairman Toshiyuki Shiga, of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, said that the falling value of the Euro, and the U.S. dollar, is driving up the value of the Japanese yen, which is making Japanese cars to expensive to sell.

Most of Japan’s national income is made by selling products to other countries (exports), and since the March 11 disasters the yen has been going up in value causing huge drops in demand for Japanese products.

Japan is hoping to see the Euro and U.S. dollar go up in value, which would make Japanese products more affordable on the world market.

Ron Paul says let Palestine be recognized, but Palestinians should beware the United Nations

“…I do not believe the U.S. should use its position in the UN Security Council to block their membership.”-Ron Paul, U.S. Congressman from Texas

Ron Paul has written a new post in his Texas Straight Talk, saying the United States should not block Palestine from being recognized by the United Nations.

Ron Paul says anyone who’s afraid of the Palestinians finally getting internationally recognized statehood is a weak minded elitist: “Only a political class harboring the illusion it can run the world obsesses over the aspirations of a tiny population on a tiny piece of land thousands of miles away.”

But don’t think Ron Paul is pro United Nations, in fact he has a warning for Palestinians about reliance on the UN: “When the UN gave NATO the green light to bomb Libya there was no genocide taking place.  It was a purely preventative war.  The result?  Thousands dead, a destroyed country, and extremely dubious new leaders.”
