Not even two months after making investors happy and suddenly exiting the Canadian market (and killing off 17-thousand jobs overnight), and not even one week after killing off 550 jobs at its Minnesota HQ, Target announces “several thousands” of job cuts for the United States!

Reports say most of the job cuts will take place at their massive HQ.  Target administrators say the economy is so bad they have to cut $2-billion USD over the next two years!

But Target administrators plan on spending at least $1-billion on pushing the retail giant into the digital world.  They say brick-n-mortar store sales are expected to go up by only 1% in 2015, but they hope digital-internet sales will skyrocket by 40%.  350 Target stores will be converted into digital shipping hubs.

Analysts say even by shifting focus on digital sales in order to compete with Amazon and Walmart, Target’s profit margins will be tight at best (which doesn’t make investors happy).
