World War 3: Yemen’s intelligence HQ targeted

23 July 2012, Yemen security officials say they’ve diffused a bomb at their intelligence headquarters.  This comes a day after unconfirmed reports said a Saudi Arabian deputy intelligence official was assassinated by an explosion at their intelligence HQ in Riyadh.

Yemen shares a border with Saudi Arabia, and the Yemen government is supported by the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On 22 July, a Yemeni air force commander was attacked. His convoy was bombed, he survived.  Security officials say they have information indicating that rebels are now focusing on attacking senior military leaders and intelligence operatives.
