End of an Era: British Prime Minister says the Best Days are Behind Us, Rupert Murdoch scandal may be straw that breaks camel’s back

British Prime Minister David Cameron lamented that “…a general feeling that maybe our best days as a country are behind us…”. He was talking about everything from the economic disaster to the scandal involving Rupert Murdoch’s media empire and public officials.

Cameron says it’s become clear that elected leaders, as well as corporate leaders, even government employees, are acting out of pure greed: “I’m talking about the expenses scandal, the financial crisis, this whole disgraceful and sorry episode of phone hacking. There’s a sense that the rich and the powerful – politicians, bankers, the press and the police – have been serving themselves…”

What Economic Recovery? Mainstream Media Experts get it wrong, again. Job creation predictions way off

“Today, companies are producing more goods and services than ever before. The economy is able to do that with 7 million fewer workers. If we can do so much with so much less, where is the incentive to hire?”-Bernard Baumohl,  The Economic Outlook Group

For the past few days the stock markets have been going up (mainly those reported by the Dow Jones).  Some mainstream U.S. media outlets were saying it’s because of good jobs data.  It turns out their claims of good jobs data was based solely on “expert” economists, who were just plain guessing (like always).

Today, July 8, the U.S. Department of Labor released the official job hiring numbers for June, and boy are the “expert” economists way off.  The mainstream media had been reporting that “expert” economists predicted 120,000 people would be hired in June.  The actual number of people hired…18,000.   That’s a big difference.  It’s also clear proof that the U.S. economy is not recovering.

The job creation number is a “net” number, meaning it’s what’s left over after you subtract the number of people who lost jobs.  Another way to say it is that corporate america fired way more people than they hired.  And this has been going on for years now.

“We are backsliding. The chances are that we go into another recession or we muddle along at technical growth, but actually making no improvements as far as Main Street goes. The chance of one of those things happening is extremely high.”-Heidi Shierholz, Economic Policy Institute

How bad is the unemployment situation?  Officially 7 million people lost their jobs as a direct result of the credit crisis, which started in 2007/2008.  Today, officially there is still 6.3 million people with no jobs!   And by “officially” I mean those people who’re still counted by state and federal unemployment agencies, there are potentially millions who’re no longer counted.

If you notice I used two quotes from economist who seem to know what’s really going on.  I see many reports and comments from such economists, yet the mainstream U.S. media always goes with the “experts” who always get it wrong.

Why would the mainstream U.S. media continue to report faulty data?  Could it be because the mainstream U.S. media is not only traded on the stock markets, but is actually invested in the stock markets, so basically they’re scamming potential investors to give up their money to the biggest casino in the world, The Stock Market?

There are also those who believe the mainstream U.S. media is doing the bidding of the Federal government, in trying to make things look better than they really are, to try and prevent mass civil disobedience (like what’s happening in some European countries).

In any event, it is clear that you can’t rely on the mainstream U.S. media for “facts” about our economy.  And you can not use the stock market as a gauge for the performance of our economy.

The fact that 6.3 million people are still officially out of work, shows that after three years of promises about improving our economy, and claims that the recession is over, absolutely nothing has improved and many “Main Streeters” think we’re heading into a Depression.

U.S. media totally ignoring Protesters in the United States, arrest numbers prove it

Notice that there is no mention of any protesters on the U.S. main stream media?  At least nothing that involves protesting President Obama, or the Federal Government, or the War on Terror, etc.

The lack of coverage even had several foreign media sites doing round table discussions as to why it seems no one in the United States is protesting (Russia Today for one).

The reality is that U.S. citizens are protesting, and in greater numbers year after year.  The proof: Arrest numbers.  So far for 2011 at least 670 people have been arrested.  Since Barack Obama became president at least 2,600 people have been arrested. The arrest numbers have gone up year after year: 665 in 2009.  1,290 in 2010.

According to Jack Cohen-Joppa, who’s been tracking the arrests, more people are in prison now, for protesting nuclear weapons, than in the past ten plus years.

He also admits that many activists backed off their protests when Obama became president.  But now that it’s become clear that Obama is a liar, the activists are coming out swinging.

Symantec finds big hole in Facebook, free access to thousands of accounts

Computer security firm Symantec, discovered a hole in Facebook’s security system, allowing third parties to access at least 100,000 accounts.

“We estimate that over the years, hundreds of thousands of applications may have inadvertently leaked millions of access tokens to third parties.”-Nishant Doshi, Symantec

Symantec says they contacted Facebook officials about the problem, and Facebook says they will fix it.

Iran & Cuba join forces to counter Hillary Clinton’s U.S. media war

“In line with the imperialistic interests of the U.S. and Europe, the American and European media outlets don’t reflect the exact reality of what happens in our nations.”-Ramin Mehman-Parast, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman

Recently Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked Congress to spend more money on increasing pro-U.S. international media organizations.  She said the U.S. was losing out to foreign media.

Now the Iranians, and Cubans, have joined the international media war, by joining forces.

Besides wanting to show their side of the story, in Latin America, the Iranians say they need a more trustworthy source of Latin American news than the U.S. media.

Libya is Not in the Middle East

March 8, 2011, Chubbuck, Idaho.

I’m getting tired of U.S. media outlets constantly referring to the events in Libya as “more trouble in the Middle East”, or, “oil prices rising due to crisis in the Middle East” (and then showing video of Libya). Libya is not in the Middle East! Is this proof of the dumbing down of the U.S. Media? Ironically, Geography must not be important to media outlets that serve the Empire of the United States. Libya is in North Africa! Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Algiers, Morocco, these are the countries that make up the top half of North Africa. They are also countries that are continuously mislabeled as Middle Eastern. Just because there are a lot of Arabs (a branch of the Semitic) living there, and most of the people are Muslims, does not make it the Middle East.
