Hoshino Koju, president of Studio Ghibli, announced the retirement of 72 years old Miyazaki Hayao.

The Academy Award winner told Japanese news media that he feels like he is too busy, and needs a break for his health.  Miyazaki produced 11 animated movies.  Howl’s Moving Castle was nominated for an Oscar, and Spirited Away won the Academy Award in 2001.
