The Real Thing: Coca Cola invests additional $4-billion, in China!

Even with the brakes being applied to the Chinese economy United States based drink maker Coca Cola announced it is spending an additional $4-billion USD in the east Asian country.

According to Chinese news reports, the iconic ‘American’ soft drink maker has already invested $9-billion into China from 1979 to 2014.

Part of the new $4-billion investment will be in the form of a $56-million bottling plant in Hebei Province, which is hoped to have up to nine production lines pushing out 250-million ‘units’ per year!

With all the whining in the U.S. about its decaying infrastructure it should be noted that Coca Cola is happily spending its money on developing new local infrastructure within China.

2015: Atlanta, Georgia, based iconic Coca Cola announced it is cutting $100-million AUD from its Australian ops in 2015, killing off at least 250 jobs in the Land Down Under! Coca Cola already killed off at least 157 Australian jobs for 2014! But wait there’s more! Coca Cola is also killing off 2-thousand jobs in the United States, before the end of January 2015! Company administrators say the U.S. economy is so bad they’re forced to cut $3-billion USD by 2019!

But while Coca Cola is massively shutting down its ‘western’ operations, it’s spending bank in Palestine, despite an Israeli economic blockade.

Diet Soda Pop causes Heart Attacks

The Journal of General Internal Medicine says diet sodas might keep you from gaining weight, but they increase your chances of heart attack!

Researchers from the University of Miami, and the Columbia University, studied 10 years of health data and soda pop drinking habits in 2,564 New York City adults.

Daily diet soda drinkers had a 43% higher risk of developing cardiovascular problems, than people who drank sugary sodas.

Interestingly, people who drank diet sodas occasionally (not everyday) were in the same category as sugary soda drinkers.  The researchers say studies need to be done to find out why daily consumption of diet soda pop increases your risk of heart attacks.

From Russia to Coca Cola; Big Profits. From Coke to Russia; $1 Billion.

Coca-Cola reported a third quarter profit for 2010.  Russia being their biggest market, with 30% growth in the past year.  Coke’s North American market (Canada, United States and Mexico) had only 2% growth.  A very obvious sign, I think, of who has the money to spend.

Coca-Cola has figured out where the money is and has announced that it will invest $1 billion into their Russian operation, over the next five years.  Another obvious sign, to me, that the U.S. economy isn’t ’bout to recover soon.

Who loves ya baby?  Not the the United States.  From Russia with love.
