“Chinese satellites have found smoke and floating objects…. At present we cannot confirm this is related to the missing aircraft.”-Li Jiaxiang,  Civil Aviation Administration of China

Ships, and two Vietnamese aircraft, rushed to the area of debris sighted by Chinese satellites, but found nothing.

“I can say with reasonable confidence that this plane shaped object is not the downed plane because I spotted two large boats parked next to one another on earlier shots of DigitalGlobes satellite images not shrouded by cloud and from what I can make out based on the shapes and angle they are sitting on these are the exact same two boats.”-Mark Will, IT consultant

The Wall Street Journal reporting the flight could have made it as far as Pakistan or the Arabian Sea.  It’s base on data that was sent by the plane (gee, I could’a swore at the beginning investigators said no data was being sent?): Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours, based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground…..”

Concerning the report that fishermen near Port Dickson finding a life raft; some investigators believe the pic of of the raft show it to be a type used by ships, not aircraft.
