High Tech Fail: Idaho’s low tech paper ballots ranked one of most trustworthy for U.S. elections!

08 January 2017 (13:51 UTC-07 Tango 06) 19 Dey 1395/09 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/11 Ji Chou 4714

The University of Sydney, in Australia, recently published their study of the U.S. voting system (done with the cooperation of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University), or systems since there is no standardized system of voting across the United States.

The latest and greatest electronic voting systems failed to boost the election integrity of the more populous U.S. states.

In fact, Idaho’s old fashioned mainly paper ballot system helped The Gem State earn the second highest ranking for election integrity in the United States (behind tiny Vermont)!  Keep in mind that the logistics of casting and counting votes in Idaho is delegated down to the county level, also realize that even though Idaho is considered one of the best for election integrity there were several cases of documented vote fraud.

And time for another reality check, the United States as a whole (once considered the leader in world democratic ideals) is still ranked among the lowest for election integrity in the ‘western’ europeanized world (once known as Christendom), along with the United Kingdom.

More proof there is no ‘Right’ to vote: Hawaii!

One woman who lives on the Big Island of Hawaii told me she was driving from work to her polling place when she heard the winner of a presidential race announced on the radio. She turned the car around and drove home without voting.”John Sutter, CNN 2012

“The closing time for voting polls varies from state to state. While most states’ polls close by 10 p.m. Eastern Time, Hawaii’s are still open until 11 p.m…..  ….On Election Day 2012, many media outlets declared that Obama had enough electoral votes to win the presidency once it was announced he had won Ohio at approximately 11:15 Eastern Time…..  However, all of the electoral votes were not actually counted until Nov. 10…..”Romper

The U.S. Supreme Court….blocked votes from being counted in a unique election that’s considered a major step toward self-governance for Native Hawaiians.”Associated Press, 2015

“In the 1960 presidential election, Hawaii’s three electoral votes were cast for Senator John F. Kennedy even though the Republican electors supporting Vice-President Richard M. Nixon had been certified the winners.   This little noticed fact was mentioned by Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy in his dissent in Bush v. Gore.”-Institute of Election Analysis

“There is nothing to suggest that Hawaii’s plebiscite, offering only a choice between ‘statehood’ or ‘to remain a territory,’ fulfills the international mandate. Also, there is little to suggest that residents of Hawaii were properly educated on the process or understood the importance of the plebiscite and what rights were available to the population. As the state insists that 94% of the voters voted for statehood, nowhere do they mention that of those eligible to vote, only 35% actively voted for statehood, as most Hawaii residents did not vote.Statehood Hawaii

Exceptional Failed State: U.S. voters prove they are insane!

24 May 2014 (23:24 UTC-07 Tango 23 May 2014)/24 Rajab 1435/03 Khordad 1393/26 Ji-Si 4712

This week voters in the United Failed States of America proved they are indeed insane.  Millions of people voted in state primaries and other local elections.

Election after election citizens vote (believing it’s their “duty” despite the fact that there is nothing in the Constitution mandating voting to prove you’re a loyal citizen), and, election after election most voters claim they didn’t get what they voted for!   Then why the hell do you keep voting ?

Some unknown/unconfirmed genius calls that insanity: “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

“Our ideals and principles, as well as our national security……..That’s what makes America different. That’s what makes us exceptional.”-Barack Obama, 10 September 2013

United Police States of Corporate America: Largest corporate prison operator in the pockets of Idaho Republicans

CCA, Corrections Corporation of America, is the largest corporate prison operator in the United States.  CCA is also in the pockets of Idaho Republicans, and a few Idaho Democrats, as shown by 2006 and 2008 election campaign donations (known as the “Sunshine Summary” or “Sunshine Law”).

Recently CCA announced they were settling dozens of lawsuits claiming prison violence, and lack of medical care for prisoners.  One of those prisons is south of Boise, Idaho.  It’s known as “Gladiator School” because of the level of violence, and the fact that prison guards were caught on security cameras just standing around watching as prisoners were beaten for hours.

Is your favorite Idaho Republican/Democrat on the list of CCA donations?
