Model Gift Build: Late Xmas #3 update

Update on the third late Xmas gift build.

Blaming my personal blend of coffee beans for procrastinating what should have been a fast/easy build:

Monogram messin’ with me, glue together versus snap-together:

Where I say “exactly the same” replace with ‘close enough (for government work) to be considered the same’:

Remember that Canadian comedian asking you “want some more pancakes?”:

Pine Ridge Mall: The car show Instigator! And his steed, The Midnight Corvette!

Possibly at the behest of a Motor-Gear-Head Instigator, the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck, Idaho, held its first ever indoor Winter/New Year automobile show.  It was the weekend of January 13th & 14th, 2024.

This lady couldn’t get enough of Midnight, her eyeballs were all over that paint-job.

Chubbuck Days, 2023: 1973 Corvette Stingray

Original faded paint, missing the rear luggage rack, and it’s for sale!

It’s for sale, but it seems people is more interested in the dog:

I’ve been attending Chubbuck Days since 1998, the previous Chubbuck Days car show was in 2016, with much reduced participation and many of the vehicles being for sale.

CAR SHOW & HELICOPTER FORCED LANDING

After 2016, the so-called neighborhood improvement projects blocked access to Cotant Park, along with the park’s playground and tennis courts being ripped-up and replaced by a parking lot (also, the substitute park chosen for Chubbuck Days was too small to accommodate a car show), with the projects completed just in time for the ‘Pland-emic’ Paranoia which resulted in the cancelation of all local public events.

2nd Monthly Car Cruise, Pocatello, Idaho, June 2023.

16JUN2023 was the second time the Pocatello Car Club conducted a monthly car cruise down Main Street, in Old Town Pocatello.

Pocatello Airport 02 August 2014: Free car show to go with the free airshow!

Who knew that this free airshow would also be the last for Idaho’s Pocatello Airport?

Hood had to be drastically sanded as it was hit with a glue bomb. Looked like previous builder painted glue on it.

Front spoiler is from old Opel GT kit. It's being used to keep the hood from sliding off, I couldn't build a functioning hinge system in the time I gave myself to build the kit.

From a couple of cheapo junkyard kits bought on the internet, I was able to make a decent and unique looking custom Corvette.
