On 04AUG2023, it was revealed that a squad from Idaho based 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team (aka ‘Snake River Brigade’, one of my military alma maters) had completed the U.S. Army Central (USArCent, which is based on Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina) Best Squad training to move forward to the U.S. Army Forces Command (ForsCom) Best Squad competition.

They also prepped for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) on Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Biden’s War: Another North Carolina Guard unit deploying to Africa, and another to the O-I-R!

On 17DEC2022, North Carolina Army National Guard’s 2-130th Airfield Operations Battalion held a deployment ceremony, in Salisbury.  They are deploying to support operations of the U.S. Africa Command (AfriCom).

Don’t forget, another North Carolina Army National Guard unit, the 258th Engineer Utilities Detachment, held a deployment party in November, they are also deploying in 2023, not to the Middle East but to the African continent.

The North Carolina National Guard, in 2022, deployed multiple units for federal missions in Europe, The Middle East, and Antarctica, and 560 Soldiers and Airmen spent a total of 9-thousand-355 days on State Active Duty.

This deployment, as with the thousands of other National Guard deployments since 11SEP2001, was planned for well in advance: “I can tell you that this team is ready.  I can tell you that countless hours, days, weeks, and months have been poured into planning, rehearsing, executing, and refining everything that needs to be done to ensure our Soldiers go do their mission and return home.”-Lieutenant Colonel Robert Felicio, the 505th Battalion Commander

In September 2022, the Snake River Brigade’s 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team (CBCT) was busy in Texas, where it was transformed into Task Force Rattler, next stop Kuwait and Iraq.

The Army National Guard’s 116th CBCT is based in Idaho, but has units spread through Florida, Montana, Nevada and Oregon.

The 118th Infantry Regiment from South Carolina Army National Guard, as well as the 285th Medical Company from the Ohio Army National Guard, have joined with the 116th CBCT.  They are all being deployed to relieve another 116th CBCT led unit which was deployed in November 2021.

It is all part of the ongoing Operation Spartan Shield. The U.S. Army side of Operation Spartan Shield is called Task Force Spartan, which is dependent upon part time Army National Guard and Army Reserve units.  Task Force Rattler will be the second, back to back, 12 months deployment for the 116th CBCT.

Before they actually deploy to The Middle East, units must spend 45 days on Fort Bliss, Texas, conducting final deployment training, despite having trained in their home states for as long as two years, and very likely having been deployed many times before.

To make things more confusing, the U.S. Army evaluation team on Fort Bliss is not based in Texas.  The U.S. Army evaluators are from the 189th Infantry Brigade Combined Arms Training Battalion, normally based on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

In August 2022, more than 6-hundred additional militia personnel deployed from Idaho.  The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team’s Task Force Rattler spent the past two years preparing for the deployment to The Middle East (South West Asia), as part of the never ending Operation Spartan Shield.

The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team also deployed to Iraq in 2004 and 2010This year, Idaho Army National Guard’s State Aviation Group C-12 Huron aircraft and crew deployed to Africa.  The Idaho Air National Guard’s 124th Fighter Wing has deployed many times as well.  In June of this year, the 124th Civil Engineer Squadron was deployed to Oklahoma, because of flooding.

They have been assigned the official moniker of Task Force Rattler. They will be relieving Task Force Griz, another National Guard unit consisting of personnel from Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Oregon (which deployed at the end of 2021).  It looks very much like the Idaho based 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team is stuck in a deployment loop.

The 12 months deployment of Task Force Rattler (2nd of the 116th Combined Arms Battalion) will start with a short stop on Fort Bliss, Texas, for final deployment training, then on to Kuwait.

The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team (Snake River) previously deployed to Iraq in 2004 and 2010. In 2016, the Idaho Air National Guard deployed to NATO Turkey, and recently more than 4-hundred Idaho Air National Guard personnel were suddenly deployed to Iraq/Kuwait in the summer of 2020 (they were supposed to deploy to NATO Europe). Also in 2016, an Oregon officer had to explain why the Snake River Brigade ‘invaded’ NATO Romania. And it was additionally revealed that Idaho is one of only 11 states that supply the most people, per capita, for U.S. military deployments! In fiscal year 2017, it was revealed that the Idaho Army National Guard was deployed to Bangladesh, Cambodia,  Canada, Germany, Guatemala, Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Romania, Taiwan and Tanzania!  In 2018, Idaho Army National Guard’s 1st of the 168th General Support Aviation Battalion supported North Carolina’s deployment to Afghanistan.  Idaho Army and Air National Guard personnel were deployed during he supposed Pandemic in 2020-2021, and fought wildfires across the state last summer.  In February 2022, Idaho Army National Guard deployed C-12 Huron crews to somewhere in Africa.

Dorian: How to evacuate thousands of U.S. Marines

On 03SEP2019, the threat of Hurricane Dorian forced Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, to start evacuating basic trainees.

Their new temp-home will be Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia.

The trainees packed their rucks, and were handed a box of rations, and told to “Get on the bus!”

Hundreds of contracted tour buses rolled in to take them to Georgia.

It’s actually easy to evac thousands of military personnel, they’re under orders, and the food and transportation are provided.  Realize how hard it is to get millions of silly-vilians to evacuate, without providing taxpayer funded food and transportation, or a place to go-to, before-hand.

I don’t know if this guy is yawning or yelling, but I’m sure there was a lot of hurry-up-and-wait.

Installation Strategic Action Plan: New massive military bases for state Militia units

04MAR2018 /18:32 UTC-07 Tango 06  (14 Esfand 1396/17 Jumada t-Tania 1439/18 Yi-Mao 4716)

“Today is really special, the relationship with National Guard goes back to 1961 and they have gone the extra mile to get this building in great condition for this transfer of ownership.”-Kenneth Manuel, Mayor of Woodland

At the end of February the North Carolina Army National Guard quietly off-loaded one of its Armories onto the city taxpayers of Woodland.  It’s part of an operation called Installation Strategic Action Plan/Readiness Center Transformation Master Plan (RCTMP).

Ostensibly North Carolina is trying to save state taxpayers money by consolidating its Army National Guard Armories into larger state-run military bases.   According to military sources it’s really about dealing with North Carolina’s changing population demographics and the acquisition of the latest Army technologies: “The RCTMP is a consolidation effort to better serve the state and meet the needs of a modernized force.”-Lieutenant Colonel Rodney Newton

Interestingly, in reference to demographic changes, in 2017 Lieutenant Colonel Rodney Newton blamed the influx of females into the National Guard for the push to abandon old Armories: “We didn’t have very many females in the military back then, they didn’t really influx until the late 70s, so you lack female restrooms.”

The RCMTPs being built in Morganton and McLeansville are costing state taxpayers at least $70-million USD.  Many other states are attempting their own RCMTPs, but apparently are not able to raise the local taxpayer funds to do so.
