Veggie packer Jackpot Harvesting Company issued a shutdown WARN for its ops in Gonzales, 256 jobs gone in January 2019! (it might have something to do with a lawsuit over compensation of piece-rate employees)

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton held a Feds Feed Families food event at the Blinder Memorial Chapel. Feds Feed Families is a U.S. Department of Agriculture operation, relying totally on unpaid volunteers (federal government employees), to help provide food to food pantries near military bases.

Despite California farm shutdowns, Farmers claim they’re Struggling To Find Workers.
