British empire United Kingdom based drugs maker GlaxoSmithKline eliminating 550 jobs across the United States, many involved in making vaccines!
ARKANSAS: Addiction treatment operation Preferred Family Healthcare shutting down all locations, 4-thousand jobs lost in October due the non-profit’s executive officers being caught stealing millions of dollars from not only the company, but from Medicaid!
CALIFORNIA: Adventist Health Bakersfield laid off another 40 people, bringing the year’s total to 175 due to a combination of outsourcing and consolidation. Adventist Health Saint Helena suddenly laid off five people. In 2014 non-profit taxpayer owned Palm Drive Hospital shutdown, leaving more than 240 employees without final paychecks, now bankruptcy proceedings might result in final paychecks four years later! Non-profit Verity Health System now chapter 11 bankrupt busted after failed attempts to sell the hospital operator (which is in debt by at least $1-billion USD!) plus escalating maintenance costs caused by new state earthquake proofing regulations. Two days after employees complained about working conditions, Saint Joseph Health announced plans to layoff staff in October, the employees’ union rep stated that even before the planned layoffs the number of hospital workers in Humboldt County is already “dangerously low”. In San Diego, Vital Therapies suddenly laid off 83 people. Pharmacy Super RX issued shutdown WARNs for four locations, 98 jobs gone by November.
FLORIDA: Molina Healthcare issued yet another WARN, 32 jobs in Miami gone by December.
GEORGIA: ActionMed Personnel eliminating 256 jobs!
MASSACHUSETTS: Akcea Therapeutics revealed to the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) that it eliminated about 27 jobs due to the failure of one of its new drugs.
MINNESOTA: Twin Valley Living Center shutting down, 50 jobs gone by the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, unnamed employees told local news media it was because management failed to manage the money. Donation funded Shriners Hospital issued a layoff WARN, 45 jobs gone by Thanksgiving.
NEW YORK: VillageCare Health Home issued a shutdown WARN for its NYC location, 68 jobs gone by Xmas.
NORTH DAKOTA: Children’s therapeutic ranch Home on the Range suddenly laid off 17 people, blaming it on crashing referrals caused by the 2018 Family First Prevention Services Act.
TENNESSEE: Aspire Health hit by hackers, blames Google.
VIRGINIA: Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center/University Health System Authority fined $3.9-million USD for over-billing taxpayer funded Medicare, Tricare, and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan.
WASHINGTON: Now owned by Tennessee based RCCH, chapter 9 bankrupt hospital operator Trios Health laid off another 42 people. Despite listing 6-hundred job openings, non-profit Swedish Health suddenly eliminated 550 jobs, blaming ObamaCare-ACA for causing a “rapidly changing health care environment”!
WEST VIRGINIA: The new owner of Highland Hospital, Tennessee based Meridian Behavioral Health Systems, suddenly laid off 31 people.
WISCONSIN: Marshfield Clinic Health System revealed to state unemployment administrators that it suddenly laid off 25 people in August, in connection to last year’s take over of Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Midwest Senior Living eliminating 30 jobs by November due to loss of contract.
