“It has never been about me not being strong enough or smart enough for the MOS, it’s always been Lieutenant Casey getting the job done. I’m thankful for the women that came before me and that discrimination has not affected my career path.”-2nd Lieutenant Sarah Casey

Artillery is known as the King of the Battlefield, but many female personnel of the U.S. Army are striving to become the Queen of the Battlefield.

Second Lieutenant Sarah Casey, from Tennessee, proved she is worth more than her 125 pounds of weight by moving 3-thousand pounds (1360 kilos) in only nine minutes!  That’s one of the tasks you have to complete at the U.S. Army Field Artillery School.  To fire-up a 155mm gun you have to be able to load and unload 15 rounds of ammo, weighing an average of 1-hundred pounds (45 kilos) each, within 15 minutes.

She followed in her uncle’s footsteps and now leads an M270A1 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) platoon in Korea, south (Republic of Korea, aka RoK).
