“…some of our wing’s personnel are deployed worldwide almost every day of the year, this is an especially busy time for us. Every two years, we enter a deployment cycle when we know the Air Force will ask more of us, and now is that time.”-Colonel David Mounkes, 123rd Airlift Wing, Kentucky Air National Guard

Just days after the Kentucky National Guard deployed an army unit to Afghanistan, a Kentucky air militia unit deploys to somewhere in the Persian Gulf.

Personnel of the 123rd Airlift Wing took a little trip onboard a C-130, on 23FEB2018, to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia.

The Kentucky Air National Guard already has more than 150 personnel deployed to Southwest Asia and Africa. Official military news reports say more deployments of Kentucky militia personnel will continue until Spring 2018.

“We are going to have to stop being the policemen of the world.”-Donald Trump, August 2015 interview with Hugh Hewitt
