Somehow a pregnant deer got trapped among the craggy rocks along the Manistee River shoreline, in Michigan.

In this pic you can see how the deer blends in with the rocks, it doesn’t look good for the deer at this point.

Today, a group of taxpayer funded U.S. Coast Guard personnel were on their way to a training event when they spotted something odd moving among the rocks.  It was a pregnant deer.

A routine day of rescue training turned into a real rescue operation.

The taxpayer funded first responders put their training day to good use, rescuing the stuck deer and releasing it in a nearby field.  The deer has scarring on its belly from where its fur was rubbed off during its own effort to escape the potentially deadly grip of stone.

Exhausted deer, with fresh scars from its ordeal.
