Cypriot President says hijacker is not a terrorist, but a love struck idiot!

Local newspaper reports say the hijacker is a former professor who once taught at the University of Atlanta, in the U.S. state of Georgia. Egyptian reports say the hijacker is 27 or 28 years old, however, pics posted on social media show a man who is obviously in his 50s or 60s!

An Egyptian airliner (EgyptAir MS181) was hijacked and forced to land on the island country of Cyprus.  Unconfirmed reports say a single man with a bomb strapped to him managed to get on the plane in Alexandria, Egypt.  Egyptian aviation administrators say that claim came from the pilot of the plane.  The hijacker wanted to go to NATO member Turkey but the pilot convinced him there wasn’t enough fuel. The flight was a domestic flight, not international.

Since landing in Cyprus supposedly all Egyptians on the plane (the majority of the passengers) were allowed to leave. Passengers of United States and United Kingdom are still on board, along with all the crew.   Negotiations have been ongoing, it’s now revealed the hijacker is demanding political asylum and also wants a message delivered to his ex-wife, who is Cypriot.  Some unconfirmed reports say police doubt if the hijacker has a bomb.
