3900 block of West Gladys Avenue: 11 years old girl killed by stray bullet.
2000 block of North Lamon Avenue: 26 years old man walking on a sidewalk, shot and wounded in the leg and gut, after getting into an argument with somebody in a car.
4000 block of West West End Avenue: Two men and a teenaged boy shot and wounded by driver by shooters.
1200 block of North Mason Avenue: Five people shot and wounded by drive by shooters. The victims didn’t see the shooters, but “heard shots and felt pain”.
5400 block of West Haddon Avenue: 25 years old man sitting on his porch, shot at by two people. He was wounded in his ankle.
7600 block of South Drexel Boulevard: 38 years old man shot in the face while sitting in his car.
11800 block of South Yale Avenue: 15 years old boy shot and wounded while he was in front of his parent’s home.
4900 block of South Paulina Street: 17 years old boy shot and wounded.
3800 block of West Wabansia Avenue: 33 years old man walked himself to a hospital despite being shot multiple times in both legs!
2200 block of East 100th Street: A man and a woman were wounded after being shot by three men, as they stood in front of a house. The Chicago Tribune said a “disheveled detective” tried in vain to get locals to give any info to the police.
State Street on 43rd Street: 16 years old boy wounded in the head.
45th Street and Vincennes Avenue: 16 years old boy shot in the butt.
132nd Street and St. Lawrence Avenue: 23 years old man wounded in the leg.
7900 block of South Morgan Street: 22 years old man shot and wounded in the shoulder.
12200 block of South Wallace Street: 20 years old man shot in the hand and leg.
8400 block of South Morgan Street: Two teenaged boys shot and wounded.
1200 block of West 69th Street: 21 years old man shot in the leg. He drove himself to a hospital.
East 100th Street and South Indiana Avenue: A man and a woman, standing at an intersection, were shot and wounded by drive by shooters.
1500 block of West Farwell Avenue: Two men shot by drive by shooters. One man is in critical condition.
1400 block of West 17th Street: 20 years old man shot in the back and wounded.
500 block of North Lavergne Avenue: 23 years old man shot in the back and arm.
2100 block of West Washington Boulevard: 42 years old woman shot in the finger and booby.
The majority of victims are male. No arrests reported.
Once again, shooting victims were not armed, it’s as if the shooters are deliberately targeting unarmed people.
Police continue to insist most of the gun violence is caused by gang bangers, but have made few arrests. New anti-gun laws would not stop the shootings, because most guns used by gang bangers are already illegal!
